What IS my body type?

 
Just as clothes and shoes come in different sizes to fit each person individually, so should fitness plans! One of the biggest misconceptions about striving for a healthier lifestyle is thinking that the same nutrition plan and workout routine will give the same results for everyone.

In order to truly set yourself up for success, you must take a realistic look at your metabolism and body type. 

So… what are the body types?
While these three body types are not necessarily ‘one size fits all’, understanding which type most closely describes your natural skeletal frame, muscular composition, and metabolic rate is essential for understanding how your body will respond mos effectively to changes in fitness and nutrition. 

According to Muscle and Strength

ECTOMORPH TRAITS:
          Small “delicate” frame and bone structure
          Classic “hardgainer”
          Flat chest
          Small shoulders
          Thin
          Lean muscle mass
          Finds it hard to gain weight
          Fast metabolism

MESOMORPH TRAITS
          Athletic
          Generally hard body
          Well defined muscles
          Rectangular shaped body
          Strong
          Gains muscle easily
          Gains fat more easily than ectomorphs

ENDOMORPH TRAITS
          Soft and round body
          Gains muscle and fat very easily
          Is generally short
          "Stocky" build
          Round physique
          Finds it hard to lose fat
          Slow metabolism
          Muscles not so well defined
